This coming Sunday, Greta Van Susteren will return to U.S. television news for the first time in more than two years as the host and moderator of Full Court Press with Greta Van Susteren, a new Sunday political talk program for the Atlanta-based local broadcaster Gray Television.
“The show will tap the knowledge and expertise of Gray Television’s trusted bench of reporters who will provide on-the-ground reports from their communities,” said Gray svp of local media Sandy Breland. “It’s a perfect time to highlight politics through the local lens as viewers rank local news as their most trusted source. We look forward to Greta bringing her firm but fair approach to broadcast television.”
The Washington D.C.-based host welcomes Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard as her first guest on her Washington D.C.-based show.
Full Court Press will on premiere on Gray stations in over 76% of the country in major markets including New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and all of Gray’s 93 markets, including those in election battleground states like Iowa, Arizona and Florida.
Gray is also launching a new OTT and social media companion show, Full Court Press-Overtime.
Lisa Allen will serve as the executive producer of Full Court Press, and Breland is the exec in charge. Cary Glotzer, CEO of Tupelo-Raycom, is in charge of production.
Van Susteren was named Gray TV national political analyst back in February, and she also hosts Plugged in with Greta Van Susteren on Voice of America, a news service which broadcasts exclusively outside the U.S.
The veteran cable newser left MSNBC in June 2017, fewer than six months after arriving at the network as host of For the Record with Greta. The show launched on Jan. 9, 2017 and aired in MSNBC’s 6 p.m. timeslot for the duration of that time.
Prior to MSNBC, Van Susteren was host of On the Record with Greta Van Susteren on the Fox News for more than 14 years. She left FNC in Sept. 2016, when a window in her contract allowed her to leave.
Before arriving at Fox News, Van Susteren was of course a CNN host. She hosted The Point with Greta Van Susteren in prime time, and co-hosted Burden of Proof, CNN’s daily legal show.
