Greta Van Susteren Accuses Associated Press of ‘Bias’ in Political Coverage

By Mark Joyella

“The AP has some explaining to do,” said Greta Van Susteren in an “Off the Record” commentary on her Fox News show Monday. “The AP is supposed to be the gold standard. Just the facts. No agenda, no opinion. But now? AP bias is showing.”

Van Susteren pointed to the different ways the AP used Twitter to announce the presidential campaigns of Hillary Clinton and Carly Fiorina–with Fiorina, a Republican, getting a boilerplate and boring tweet about announcing her campaign, but Clinton, the Democratic frontrunner, being described as a potential barrier-breaker. “Carly Fiorina, she’s just running. But Hillary Clinton? She’s embracing her potential to make history.”

Van Susteren also called out the Associated Press’ recent photo of Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz, who was shown with an image of a handgun in the background that appeared, in the photo, to be aiming at his head.
