Greta ‘Angled’ For 7pm Fox News Timeslot

By Chris Ariens

Starting Monday, Greta Van Susteren will be getting home from work several hours earlier than she has been for the last 10 years. Van Susteren’s show moves from 10pmET to 7pmET as Fox News undergoes a rare programming makeover.

Van Susteren tells Politico she “angled” for the 7pm hour. “Internally, after I’d heard Shep was leaving, I made myself, quote, available.”

Van Susteren, who called her new timeslot a “reward” several times during the interview, said the move aligned with Fox News chief Roger Ailes’ desire “to do something new with the lineup.”

“I mean, he gave me a long-term contract, he gave me a raise and he gave me the 7 p.m.,” the ‘On the Record’ host said. “You know, I’m not complaining. I’ve got a brand new studio, all my own — I see this as a reward for 11 and a half years No. 1 at 10.”
