Gray Is Only A “Contributor” To FNC

On July 1, Media Matters “demanded” that Fox News “remove C. Boyden Gray from his position as a Supreme Court analyst.” David Brock wrote: “Gray’s involvement as a leading player in the coming Supreme Court nomination battle makes him an inappropriate choice to serve as an analyst for Fox News, and Fox’s failure to disclose Gray’s conflict of interest to its viewers only compounds the problem.”

But it turns out that Gray is not an “analyst” for the network. He was mistakenly labeled as an analyst once, but the network has been careful to specify has role ever since. “He’s a contributor,” an FNC spokesperson tells Howard Kurtz. “We pay contributors for strong opinions.”
