Gracie Awards Honorees Announced

The Alliance for Women In Media Foundation’s 40th Anniversary Gracies Awards honorees have been announced and a bunch of TV newsers are among them. The awards honor individuals who are pioneers in their respective fields and lead by example.

Fusion’s Alicia Menendez is honored for Outstanding Talk Show, while CBS picked up an Outstanding Magazine award for “48 Hours: Kristen’s Secret.” ABC’s “Good Morning America” picked up the award for Outstanding Talk Show.

Al Jazeera’s Gloria Steinem, NBC’s Hoda Kotb, Erica Hill and Robin Sindler, CNN’s Elizabeth CohenIsha Sesay, Patricia DiCarlo and Rachel Nichols all snagged individual awards.

CNN picked up the Outstanding Documentary award for “Every Day in Cambodia: A CNN Freedom Project Documentary.” The Outstanding Soft News Feature award went to Lauren Hill‘s story on “CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley.”

Olivia Munn even picked up an award for playing a TV newser on HBO’s  “The Newsroom.” The winners (view the full list here) will be honored at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on May 19.
