Blitzer PerryIn a discussion with Wolf Blitzer on CNN’s “The Situation Room” tonight, Texas Governor Rick Perry seemingly snuck in a subtle endorsement for Fox News while talking about Ted Nugent’s controversial comments about President Obama.

“Good for you, I love fair and balanced,” Perry said in response to Blitzer conceding that Bill Maher has said some “disgusting” things of his own (Maher recently told Forbes working at CNN was “never, going to happen” for him).

“When Democrats say sick, obnoxious things, we report that as well…we’re not shy about that,” Blitzer added. “As well you should,” a giggly Perry responded.

Blitzer acknowledged Nugent’s comments rubbed him the wrong way: “He’s gone way over the top on this. It just gets me a little agitated.” For Perry’s part, he said he had a problem with Nugent calling the president a mongrel.

Blitzer’s exchange with Perry continues his weeklong coverage of Nugent’s comments. Blitzer and “Crossfire” co-host Newt Gingrich got into it Tuesday night.
