‘Good Morning America’ Wins Second Straight Season

Despite losing two anchors in the last year, ABC’s “Good Morning America” won its second straight season, and added viewers in the process. The ABC morning broadcast improved most where in counts: in the A25-54 news demo growing +7% vs. the 2012-2013 season. “GMA” was also up +4% in total viewers.

“CBS This Morning” showed the most growth among total viewers up +9% vs. last season, but was the only program down in the A25-54 demo: -3%. The broadcast had its best season in more than two decades, since 1993-1994.

NBC’s “Today” show grew +6% in total viewers, closing the total viewer gap with “GMA” versus last season, and was also up +4% in A25-54 viewers.

The averages for the week of 2013-2014 Season:

  • Total Viewers: ABC: 5.537M / NBC: 4.868M / CBS: 3.024M
  • A25-54 viewers: ABC: 2.105M / NBC: 1.965M / CBS: 972,000
