Good Morning America Wins Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Morning Show

By Chris Ariens

ABC’s Good Morning America took home a Daytime Emmy award for Outstanding Morning Show at last night’s Daytime Emmy Awards. Dr. Oz, who won for Outstanding Informative Talk Show, announced the GMA win, double checking the envelope: “I don’t want any mixups here. I am a surgeon afterall,” said Dr. Oz before announcing the GMA win.

Los Angeles bureau chief for GMA David Herndon accepted the Emmy during a ceremony which was not televised but did stream on Soaps.com as well as on Facebook Live and Twitter’s Periscope.

The Emmy win follows a People’s Choice Award earlier this year for the nation’s most-watched morning show.
