Go Inside Newsweek, as Iconic News Magazine Announces End to Print Edition

By Chris Ariens

FishbowlNY reports that after 80 years, Newsweek is ending its print edition. December 31 will see the final Newsweek in print. In a note to staff, Newsweek/Daily Beast chief Tina Brown writes, “The inexorable move to an all-digital Newsweek comes with an unfortunate reality. Regrettably we anticipate staff reductions and the streamlining of our editorial and business operations both here in the United States and internationally.” FBNY has the full memo from Brown and CEO Baba Shetty, who joined the company just last month.

At least one NewsBeast staffer has already found work, at Fox news. Politico’s Mike Allen Tweets:

big Fox get: Peter J. Boyer, who joined Newsweek/Daily Beast after 18 yrs at New Yorker, to Fox News as editor at large; announcement soon
