GMA Saturday Finds Good News In First Quarter Ratings

According to an ABC press release, there’s good news for the weekend editions of Good Morning America from Nielsen Media Research’s first quarter numbers.

Comparing first quarter numbers to those from last year, GMA Saturday was the only Saturday morning show to post total viewer gains from 2007, with an increase of 3%. Weekend Today was down 4%, with The Saturday Early Show declining 14%.

Comparing the A25-54 demo, GMA Saturday was up 4%, with Today and Early dropping 11% and 7%, respectively.

All three Sunday show editions posted declines when comparing first quarter ratings to those of 2007: CBS Sunday Morning by 1%, GMA down 2%, and Today down 9%.

Ditto for Sunday’s A25-54 demo: GMA and CBS were down 1%, with Today down by 11%.
