“The upcoming addition of Glenn Beck, who is heard on about 200 radio stations, is the latest of several major changes at Headline News,” the Atlanta Journal-Constitution says. Not all the reactions to his hiring are positive:

> Beck has a history of making controversial comments, Media Matters says. (Here are some examples.) “Boycott CNN,” this blogger screams…

> SpeakSpeak’s headline: “CNN Trying to Be Fox News.”

> “Opinion shows bring in ratings regardless of breaking news,” an e-mailer says. “HLN is doing what CNN has yet to do…..Something new and fresh with Mr. Beck.”

> A tipster asks: “What happens when Glenn Beck starts to beat Anderson Cooper in the ratings the way Nancy Grace beats Paula Zahn? Isn’t the major league team supposed to be better than the farm team?”

> This listener is excited: “It’s going to be the funniest political show on TV =) I can’t wait!”
