Glenn Beck has his eyes on the former Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas for his new GBTV offices and studios.
The Southlake Journal reports Beck’s bid will go before the Zoning Commission on Thursday and before the full City Council on Nov. 1.
Beck’s spokesman Josh Raffel tells TVNewser, “Mercury Radio Arts is exploring its options for office and studio space in the area and this is part of that process.”
On his radio program over the summer, Beck talked about Southlake, saying, “I have to tell you, I love the people there. I just love the people there.”
And residents gave back some love during a neighborhood meeting about the proposal last night. John Taylor, whose home backs up to the property, has concerns about security. “We may love him dearly, but there are a lot of people who don’t,” he tells the Journal.
Beck moved to the Dallas area this summer after parting ways with Fox News. He launched GBTV on Sept. 12.
