A longtime CNBC producer and bureau chief Glen Rochkind passed away last Thursday at his home in Montclair, New Jersey.
Rochkind, who was 57, got his break in TV as a production assistant in the NBC News Washington bureau. He had stops at WRC-TV in Washington, USA Today’s TV Show, and CNBC, where he was the network’s first London Bureau chief in 1990.
Rochkind left broadcasting in 2006 for a jobs in PR, but returned last year as one of the producers of the 60 Minutes story “Inside Apple.”
“There were dozens of us at CNBC who he went to bat for and fought for,” said Matt Cuddy, who succeeded Rochkind as CNBC’s D.C. Bureau chief. He was always on the side of smart journalism.”
Rochkind, whose cause of death is not known, leaves behind an 11-year-old son, his parents and two sisters.
