Gibson’s World News: “One Of The More Intriguing Comeback Stories” This Year

By Brian

At the helm of World News, Charles Gibson “suddenly, somewhat improbably, finds himself headlining one of the more intriguing comeback stories going,” Jill Vejnoska writes in the AJC.

“Once given up for naught in the basement of broadcast, ABC [News’] resuscitation is one of the more compelling media stories of the year,” Quinnipiac prof Rich Hanley says.

> Also: An interesting quote from David Westin: “A lot of people were quite concerned whether we could really compete with all of the attention being given to everyone else. I said, ‘We will suffer because of this [Couric’s debut], our ratings will go down. Be prepared for several months of this.’ I was wrong.”
