Future of WNT: One Or Two ABCers “Look Like Vultures,” Paul Slavin Says

By Brian

ABC News senior VP Paul Slavin and World News Tonight EP Jon Banner meet twice a week to discuss who should take over the evening newscast in the wake of Peter Jennings‘s death, Matea Gold reports. “Ultimately, the decision will be made by [ABC News president David] Westin and Anne Sweeney, president of the Disney-ABC Television Group, along with Walt Disney Co. chief executive Robert Iger.”

> Interesting quote: “TV people are quite aggressively ambitious, and there are probably 10 people here who really want that job and who feel like it should be theirs. But I have to say — with one or two exceptions — they were all very, very sensitive to not look like vultures.” Who are the one or two exceptions??
