Front-Page Correction: Bill O’Reilly Did Not Call Pres. Obama a Racist

By Chris Ariens

The St. Pete Times has a correction on the front page today. It reads:

Bill O’Reilly has not accused President Barack Obama of racism. An article in Sunday’s Perspective section about the National Association of Black Journalists incorrectly included the Fox newscaster in a list of commentators who have publicly accused the president of racism.

The Times‘ longtime TV critic Eric Deggans wrongly and falsely accused O’Reilly of calling Obama a racist.

Deggens was one of many who criticized NYTimes TV critic, Alessandra Stanley for the corrections to her stories, most especially the seven errors in her story after the death of Walter Cronkite.

Well, on his blog this morning, Deggens writes that he’s eating some “humble pie.” “Truth is, we’re all human, and part of being a fair journalist is admitting when you’ve made an error,” he writes.
