Fox & Time Warner Negotiate: “Expanded Basic” Or “Digital Tier” For Biz Net?

By Brian

Reuters adds a few details to yesterday’s Fox biz channel story:

Fox “is seeking carriage of the business channel on Time Warner Cable’s ‘expanded basic’ channel line-up, giving it 9.8 million viewers. News Corp. executives have pledged to have a minimum of 20 million viewers for the channel before its debut.” But Time Warner “would prefer to put the channel on its digital tier.”

More: “The negotiations are part of talks to renew Fox News’ carriage on Time Warner systems,” according to the Reuters source. “Time Warner Cable confirmed that it was in negotiations to carry the
news channel with Fox.”

> TVNewser Monday: “We’re not even close to an agreement…perhaps the reporter was mistakenly led to believe a deal is imminent…it’s not,” an FNC insider says.
