Fox Newser Moms

By Chris Ariens

On this day before Mother’s Day, a couple of Fox Newsers are in the news — one pays tribute to his mom, and the other who is a mom, talks about the big news this week. Jennifer Griffin, a mother of two talked with Parenting magazine about how she juggled the Osama Bin Laden news and a tired toddler.

“I had just gotten home from a friend’s house with 2-year-old Luke, my youngest. It was later than his bedtime, and I was scrambling to warm him a bottle and convince him to put on pajamas. I was at the stove when all of my phones started ringing. The messages on my Blackberry made it seem like [Libyan leader Muammar] Qaddafi had been killed. I put on the TV, gave Luke a bottle on the couch, and told him to be very quiet. That’s when I got a call saying that it was Osama bin Laden.

Meanwhile, Georganne Hemmer, mother of Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer spoke with the Daily Beast about her parenting style and a hard lesson Bill learned when he was 16.

“When he was 16, he got his license of course, and my husband went out driving with him. Someone gave [Bill] a cowboy hat, and he looked rather arrogant with the hat on behind the wheel. We have a stretch of road down by the Ohio river and you can pretty much get up speed down there. He did. And my husband kept saying, ‘Billy, slow down, slow down!’ And he got caught and ticketed his first day. I don’t remember if we immediately took away his license, but he didn’t get another for a long time.”
