Fox News’ The Real Story Has Most-Watched Week Ever

Fox News has not skipped a beat, ratings wise, as the network deals with the sexual harassment lawsuit filed by former anchor Gretchen Carlson.

The network finished as the most-watched basic cable network for the week of July 4, both in total day and in prime time. As for Carlson’s former program, The Real Story, it had its most-watched and highest-rated week last week averaging 1.7 million viewers and 292,000 in the key demo with Kimberly Guilfoyle substitute hosting Monday-Wednesday, Heather Nauert on Thursday, and Shepard Smith from Dallas on Friday. The Real Story launched in September 2013.

Since Carlson’s last day hosting The Real Story on June 23, Fox News has averaged 1.5 million viewers and 239,000 in the key demo during the 2 p.m. ET hour, according to Nielsen Media Research. The show is up 11 percent in total viewers and up 21 percent in the demo for the two weeks since her departure compared to her final two weeks on the air.
