Fox News Sets Entry Criteria for Republican Debate

By Mark Joyella

Fox News Channel has set the entry criteria for next week’s Republican presidential debate, set for Thursday in Des Moines, Iowa.

The network has informed campaigns candidates must place in the top six spots nationally in an average of the five most recent national polls (released before Tuesday at 5 p.m. ET)–or place within the top five in Iowa or New Hampshire in an average of the five most recent Iowa or New Hampshire polls.

Candidates who fall below that threshold, but register at least one percent in at least one of the five most recent national polls will qualify for the undercard debate Thursday at 7 p.m. ET.

The moderators for the early debate will be Bill Hemmer and Martha MacCallum. The prime time debate will begin at 9 p.m. ET, and be moderated by Bret Baier, Megyn Kelly and Chris Wallace.
