Fox News Ridicules Donald Trump’s Debate Poll

By Mark Joyella

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, who you may have heard thinks Fox News Channel host and debate moderator Megyn Kelly is biased, has suggested he may skip the Fox News GOP debate set for Thursday.

He said it last night on CNN, and now he’s asking his supporters to make the final decision. He’s posted a poll on Twitter (as of 3:30 p.m. ET, the vote was trending “yes, you should go to the debate”):

In an Instagram video, Trump asks supporters directly about Kelly: “do you really think she can be fair in a debate?”

Should I do the #GOPdebate?

Fox News, which has reacted to each of Trump’s recent attacks on Kelly with increasing sarcasm, responded to the Twitter poll with the following statement from a network spokesperson:

“We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president — a nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.”

While it remains unclear if Trump will attend the debate or not, there is no doubt Megyn Kelly will be there. Fox News chairman Roger Ailes made that clear in a statement, “Megyn Kelly is an excellent journalist and the entire network stands behind her–she will absolutely be on the debate stage on Thursday night.”

UPDATE, 6:50 p.m. ET: In an appearance Tuesday afternoon, Trump said he would “most likely” not participate in the next Republican debate.
