Perhaps we should resolve to give up media hashtag campaigns in 2015? Fresh on the heels of CNN’s #AskACop, “Fox and Friends” asked viewers to share the things they were tired of and eager to leave behind in 2014. Selfies! Pretzel buns!
Using the hashtag #OverIt2014, the Fox News show kicked things off Tuesday with a tweet that included host Elizabeth Hasselbeck’s #OverIt suggestion, and invited viewers to tweet theirs:
2014 has been a year full of things we don’t want to see in the New Year. What are YOU over? Comment with #OverIt2014 pic.twitter.com/FjE8C989d3

And the responses came rolling in, many directing their barbs at Fox:
I’m over homophobic, racist, misogynistic, right-wing, xenophobic @FoxNews (Faux Noise) masquerading as a “news organization.” #OverIt2014

I’m over faux crises created by the media: Benghazi, relocated weddings, Fast and Furious, and Birtherism. #OverIt2014

Being subjected to climate change denial, fear mongering & racism presented as news. #OverIt2014

And so on. You get the idea.
