Fox News Joins NBCUniversal In Pulling Controversial Trump Campaign Ad

Another network has decided the Trump campaign’s undocumented immigrant ad was too problematic to be broadcast on their airwaves.

Fox News (and FBN) has joined NBCUniversal in pulling the ad from all network programming. CNN said on Saturday that it had “declined” to air the “racist” spot.

“Upon further review, Fox News pulled the ad yesterday and it will not appear on either Fox News Channel or Fox Business Network,” Fox News president of ad sales Marianne Gambelli said in a statement provided to TVNewser.

The move by FNC and FBN means that the commercial can’t be seen on any of the major cable newsers, including the president’s networks of choice.

In the ad, Trump ties an undocumented Mexican immigrant who was convicted of murdering two Sacramento sheriff’s deputies in 2014, to the thousands of migrants in the caravan, even though there is no known connection between the two.

NBCUniversal was widely condemned for their decision to air the advertisement yesterday evening during NBC’s broadcast of Sunday Night Football, the No. 1 prime time television series among adults 18-49, and released a statement the morning after the commercial aired: “After further review we recognize the insensitive nature of the ad and have decided to cease airing it across our properties as soon as possible.”

What are the president’s thoughts about his ads getting pulled?
