Fox News Is No. 1 for 4 Weeks Straight

By Chris Ariens

Fox News Channel was the No. 1 cable channel in prime time and total day among all basic cable networks last week. It’s FNC’s fourth straight week in the top spot. The network averaged 2.4 million viewers in prime time, due in large part to Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary coverage and Saturday’s breaking news of the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. Later Saturday night, FNC’s post-GOP debate special at 11 p.m. ET was the No. 1 cable news program with 2.1 million viewers and 538,000 in the A25-54 demo.

Coverage of the New Hampshire vote was the second most-watched primary night ever in cable news history, after only Iowa Caucus coverage a week earlier.

CNN made the Top 10 in prime time and was No. 11 in total day. MSNBC was No. 18 in prime and No. 19 in total day.
