Fox News Contributor Sarah Palin Confirms That She Will Not Be Seeking GOP Presidential Nomination

By Alex Weprin

Former Alaska Governor, GOP Vice Presidential nominee and current Fox News Channel contributor Sarah Palin has released a statement confirming that she will not be running for President in 2012. Palin first joined FNC’s ranks in January 2010.

“I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency,” Palin wrote in a note to supporters late Wednesday.

Palin will explain her decision on Fox News Channel’s “On the Record” with Greta Van Susteren this evening.

Fox News has or has had a large lineup of contributors who have been named as possible Presidential contenders. Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum were released from their contracts when it became clear they were interested in running, while former Governor Mike Huckabee chose to stay on the channel and host his weekly program.
