Fox News, CNN Split Weekend Wins

By Chris Ariens

U.S. cable news networks kept up weekend coverage of missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 as the search entered its third week. In the ratings, Fox News drew the most total viewers, while CNN drew the most in the A25-54 demo. But as the search dragged on with few new clues, viewership waned.

On Saturday, Fox News, CNN and MSNBC were down in total day viewing and primetime viewing in both total viewers and the demo, compared to last Saturday.

On Sunday, all three nets were down in both total viewers and demo viewers for total day viewing. Only CNN’s primetime viewership was up Sunday night, in both viewers and the demo, vs. last Sunday.
