Katie Welnhofer, a producer on FBN’s Mornings with Maria was not at work this morning. Instead she was in Manhattan Supreme Court facing charges related to a wide-ranging cocaine bust.
Welnhofer was among more than a dozen people, both sellers and buyers, arrested in the roundup. The Daily Mail reports she’s being held on $15,000 bail.
The New York Daily News reports the three dealers who were arrested “allegedly sold at bodegas, restaurants, bars, hotels, and some of the buyers workplaces,” which will be of interest as Fox begins to look into Welnhofer, though prosecutors said she had the drugs delivered to her Chelsea apartment.

Manhattan D.A. Cyrus Vance called the buyers, which also included a Chipotle executive and a Merrill Lynch client associate, “key repeat customers.”
The 2008 Northwestern University graduate joined FBN in May 2015. Before that, according to her LinkedIn page, she worked as a producer for ONE World Sports. She’s also had stints at Good Morning America, Inside Edition, CNBC and Bloomberg.
Welnhofer’s 30th birthday is tomorrow.
