Fox Business Picks Up First-Ever Monthly Total Viewer Win Over CNBC

By Brian Flood

For the first time ever, a Fox Business Network program has topped a CNBC program in total viewers for an entire month.

Lou Dobbs Tonight beat CNBC in total viewers for the month of September. CNBC aired a variety of shows, including West Texas Investors Club and The Profit. Dobbs has previously beaten CNBC in the key A25-54 demo, but this is the first win for in both viewers and the demo.

Dobbs averaged 115,000 total viewers at 7 p.m. ET, compared to CNBC’s 113,000 viewers in September. In addition, Dobbs earned his highest-rated telecast of the year on Sept. 25, with 217,000 total viewers.

In addition to the Dobbs win, FBN’s just-concluded third quarter was the network’s highest-rated quarter ever in business day.
