Former Fox News Exec No Longer Being Considered for White House Role

Bill Shine, former co-president of Fox News Channel, has taken himself out of the running as White House Communications Director.

CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins reports Shine discussed the position with President Trump over the last few days, “but has since removed himself from consideration.”

Shine left Fox News in May, 2017 after having been co-president of the network for 7 months, following the ouster of founder and chairman Roger Ailes in 2016. Shine began his career as a producer of Hannity & Colmes when the network launched in October 1996.

Shine had been previously considered for the job which eventually went to former Fox host Anthony Scaramucci, briefly, then Hope Hicks, who is leaving the position.
