Former Miami Dolphins tight end and broadcaster Jim Mandich died Tuesday after a battle with bile-duct cancer. He was 62.

Mandich played eight seasons for the Dolphins and worked as a Miami color commentator with Jimmy Cefalo and Joe Rose.

Nicknamed the “Mad Dog,” Mandich decided to end his daily sports talk show when he was diagnosed with cancer in 2010.

Mandich was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2004 after leading the University of Michigan to the Rose Bowl in 1970.
