Carole Simpson, former anchor of ABC’s World News Tonight weekend broadcasts, will moderate a town hall meeting tonight airing on the Hallmark Channel. On her website, Sen. Clinton boasts, “I’m excited to have Carole serve as moderator of this historic town hall. Carole has exemplified excellence throughout her career.”
In October, Simpson received some criticism for endorsing Clinton at an event in New Hampshire which was attended by students from her Emerson College journalism class. Simpson told the Boston Globe in November, “I know I made a mistake. It was definitely the wrong venue for my first foray into free speech. But I’d really like to see [Clinton] win.”
