FNC’s Weekend Updates

By Chris Ariens

If you were watching Fox News Channel this weekend then you noticed some programming changes. FNC SVP Bill Shine tells TVNewser he’s just “tweaking” the schedule to see what works. Shine says being “in the middle of the NFL season” is a good time to try out new anchors and new programs. ICN first reported the updated schedule last Friday. Shine says it’s too soon to say if this coming weekend will look the same. Page Hopkins filled in on an expanded multiple anchor Fox News Live from 12-2pmET Saturday afternoon. Shine says she’ll be back to Fox & Friends this Saturday morning.

Among the other changes, The Beltway Boys and FOX News Watch moved up from 6pmET to 2pmET Saturday. Expressing support for those shows, Shine says the move was meant to give “anyone who was out shopping” the option to watch a news program when they came home. An expanded Fox News Live ran from 4pmET-7pmET.

Big Story Weekend (5pmET) disappeared from the schedule. But Shine isn’t ready to say that that’s permanent either. And as for The O’Reilly Factor repeat Saturday afternoon, another tweak says Shine. “I’ll try whatever works.” He’ll have a good idea tomorrow, when weekend ratings come out.
