FNC’s Quick Response Vehicle Is Honored by TVTechnology at 2019 NAB Show

We could only make so many sessions at the 2019 NAB Show in Las Vegas, and unfortunately missed out on the TVTechnology Best in Show Award ceremony.

It’s especially unfortunate because Fox News won the award this year, for its Quick Response Vehicle.

It’s part of FNC’s Quick Response Vehicle program – created by chief operating officer of Fox TV Stations and svp of news ops at Fox News Sharri Berg – in partnership with LiveU & Accelerated Media Technologies. The program centers around the state of the art Nissan NV 3500 — which is basically a one-stop shop for a photographer and crew covering and chasing down a breaking news story.

The vehicle is spacious with enough cargo space for a full electronic newsgathering (ENG) photographer’s kit while providing enough workspace for correspondent and field producer to work and stay out of the elements.

Additionally, it is built on an entirely IP platform & equipped with extremely bandwidth efficient HEVC bonded encoding from LiveU with satellite technology to guarantee transmission from anywhere in the U.S.

Roof Camera for on-the-move streaming; LiveU Xtender for improved cellular throughput; Cobham satellite dish & Newtec satellite modem for satellite IP throughput up to 20 Mbps. It can support up to 5 Paths HEVC and below 10,000 pounds.
