Fox News Channel host Bill O’Reilly has donated $1 million to create a new scholarship fund at Marist College, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. O’Reilly is a member of Marist’s class of 1971.

The Peter P. O’Keefe, PhD. Endowed Scholarship will offer financial support to one student on a yearly basis. In addition, O’Reilly will personally meet with the scholarship recipients. The lucky recipients will be selected based on their promise in academic and leadership roles, as well as financial need.

“Dr. O’Keefe was an exceptional teacher, scholar and mentor,” O’Reilly said in a statement to the Poughkeepsie Journal. “I am pleased to be able to establish a scholarship in his honor so that others can benefit as I did from a great Marist education.”
