FNC Wins Debate Simulcast

Fox News Channel won the head-to-head-to-head Iowa GOP debate simulcast by a significant margin on Wednesday.

FNC had more total viewers than CNN and MSNBC combined. In the A25-54 demo, FNC had slightly less than the two other nets combined.

Compared to the rest of the primary debates, this one ranked near the bottom. Combining the numbers for all three cable channels, the debate falls just ahead of the most recent debate on Univision with 1,942,000 total viewers. The A25-54 demo take of just 574,000 ranked it even lower, but with the 2pmET start time it can be expected.

If the numbers were split by network, the FNC ratings would beat just the August 7 Democrats debate on MSNBC and the CNBC take from the October 9 GOP debate (it aired on MSNBC as well).

Did FNC’s win have anything to do with their Voters Voice? Yesterday’s numbers, in which MSNBC went with the Mitchell presser live instead, should be out later today.
