The end of Verne Gay‘s 10th anniversary piece is very interesting:
Roger Ailes “has been entangled by his own success: promoted to bigger jobs, and now distracted by ventures as disparate as MyNetwork and a possible Fox Business News channel. Even ratings have softened, a year after Katrina dramatically inflated them.
Could the Fox News Channel survive without Ailes? CBS went on without William Paley and CNN without Ted Turner. In both cases, something unique, original and vital was lost as well. The 20th anniversary should be even more interesting than this weekend’s.”
