First NBC, Now ABC Swings The Ax

ABC News is finally, in David Westin‘s own words, “enjoying such hard-earned success.”

But even the network with the top-rated evening news broadcast isn’t safe from layoffs, as today’s announcement demonstrates.

“It seems there’s no time like the present for TV news,” Radar’s John Cook writes. “NBC News suffered massive job cuts late last year as part of NBC Universal’s company-wide ‘TV 2.0’ cutbacks.”

Radar says 20/20, Primetime, and the Washington bureau “are expected to bear the brunt of the cuts…”
