Former MSNBC contributor Sam Seder is speaking out about his dismissal from the network.
MSNBC allowed Seder’s contributor contract to run out following the revelation of a 2009 tweet that included a crude joke related to the decades-old rape case involving film director Roman Polanski.
“Don’t care re Polanski, but I hope if my daughter is ever raped it is by an older truly talented man w/a great sense of mise en scene,” Seder wrote at the time.
The tweet went unnoticed for years, until late last month when a team led by alt-right personality Mike Cernovich spotted it which eventually led MSNBC to cut ties with Seder, who’d been appearing on the network for a decade.
Seder went on BuzzFeed’s show AMtoDM this morning with some advice for other MSNBCers.
Here's @SamSeder's message for MSNBC after being fired: "I know you want to avoid controversy, you can't do that in this day and age. If you try and run from something like this, you're picking a side." #AM2DM pic.twitter.com/a7id6Shjlg
