FBN’s Liz Claman Calls Warren Buffett ‘Way More Fun’ Than Fellow Billionaire

By Brian Flood

Fox Business Network’s Liz Claman will interview Warren Buffett as part of a primetime special Warren Buffett’s America Monday at 8pmET.

Every year 30,000 people flock to Omaha, Nebraska for the Berkshire Hathaway shareholder meeting (dubbed Buffettfest). Claman will cover the event live for FBN before sitting down with Buffett, his partner Charlie Munger and board member Bill Gates.

We got 5 Questions with Liz Claman, before she catches up with Buffett. She talks about Buffett’s staying power, her favorite meal in Omaha, and Gates’ personality.

TVNewser: You’ve interviewed Buffett seven years in a row… what will make this one different?

Claman: He’s been at this for decades and this meeting marks his 50th.  Not only is it extremely rare to have that kind of stamina in corporate America, but this year you’ll see that more people than ever fight to be there, to hear what he has to say, get an up close look at him. It’s almost comical that in a world where the media is obsessed with supermodels and the Kardashians, there’s an 84-year-old guy in Nebraska that sells out an arena where The Rolling Stones have played. Even with a stock performance record that’s been questioned in the last few years, Berkshire expects record attendance.

TVNewser: You’ve spoken to most of the major players in the business world… who is the most intimidating?

Claman: The only person who intimidates me is my mom.

TVNewser: Is there one person you want to interview but haven’t landed yet?

Claman: President Obama. I would also say at this point in history, German Chancellor Angela Merkel. She holds the keys to Eurozone stability right now.

TVNewser:  Who is more fun, Buffett or Gates? There is no chance they read TVNewser, so you can answer honestly.

Claman: You’re kidding right? Buffett is way more fun. He’s always going for a funny line and loves to play practical jokes. Bill Gates is a genius, maybe the smartest on the planet but he’s no Shecky Greene. He’s too busy thinking.

TVNewser:  Is there a specific meal you look forward to at Buffettfest? Maybe a steak from Gorat’s?

Claman: I’m literally sitting right now in my favorite Omaha restaurant. It’s called The Twisted Fork in the Old Market neighborhood. They have a killer salmon, feta, pear and balsamic salad. But I’m a sucker for the Hilton Omaha’s room service too. The meat loaf rocks.
