CBS’ “Face the Nation” with Bob Schieffer was the most-watched Sunday public affairs show in both Total Viewers and A25-54 viewers last Sunday. The broadcast — which included the latest from Japan as well as an interview with Sen. Joe Lieberman — had its best audience in two years.
“This Week” which saw its anchor Christiane Amanpour host from Tokyo, came in second in Total Viewers and younger viewers. Amanpour had her second-best numbers since taking over the chair in August.
NBC’s “Meet the Press,” which is normally #1, saw guest host Chuck Todd in the seat for vacationing David Gregory. The show finished third in both categories. The last time that happened was June 8, 2008.
All four shows saw growth from the same weekend last year.
