“I hadn’t thought about working in television before. But approaching 50, it seemed like an exciting new chapter in my career,” Mark Whitaker says of his job as senior vice president of NBC News.
Steve Capus approached him about moving into TV about eight weeks ago.
According to the New York Times, “Capus said he had no concerns about Mr. Whitaker’s lack of television experience. ‘That is not an issue at all,’ Mr. Capus said in a telephone interview. ‘His journalism skills are what count here.'”
