Update 10/14/14: Nielsen has restated the data for the week of Sept. 29, 2014. The numbers below are correct. With the updated numbers, “NBC Nightly News” is No. 1 in total viewers while ABC’s “World News Tonight” is No. 1 in the A25-54 demo.
Earlier story: As we reported earlier, ABC’s “World News Tonight with David Muir” has won the week — its first in more than 6 years — among total viewers and the A25-54 news demo. ABC’s gains came at the expense of “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams.”
While Muir’s show was up +10% in viewers and up +16% in the demo compared to the same week last year, Williams’s broadcast was down -3% in viewers and down -13% in the demo.
“CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley” is flat in total viewers and down -2% in the demo vs. last year.
