All three evening newscasts saw double digit growth last week, compared to the same week last year.
With coverage of the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey and the approach of Hurricane Irma, ABC’s World News Tonight with David Muir was the most watched newscast last week, while NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt was most-watched in the A25-54 demo.
ABC saw the most growth overall: +14 percent in viewers and +20 percent in the demo. Nightly News was up +11 percent in viewers and up +15 percent in the demo, seeing its 64th straight weekly win among younger viewers. The CBS Evening News was up +8 percent in viewers and up +12 percent in the demo.
ABC and CBS are based on four days, removing Labor Day from the average. NBC is based on three days, removing Labor Day as well as Thursday, due to the start of the NFL regular season.
