Evening News Ratings: Week of Sept. 24

It’s a split decision for Nightly News and World News. The Brian Williams broadcast comes in first in total viewers, edging out the Charlie Gibson broadcast by 20,000 viewers. But World News wins the demo race with 220,000 viewers. Gibson and Williams anchored their broadcasts Monday-Thursday. On Friday, Elizabeth Vargas substituted for Gibson while Ann Curry sat in for Williams. With 6.15M total viewers The CBS Evening News with Katie Couric had its best ratings performance since the week of June 27.

Total viewers: ABC: 7,650,000 / NBC: 7,670,000 / CBS: 6,150,000

25-54 demo: ABC: 2,390,000 / NBC: 2,170,000 / CBS: 1,820,000

25-54 rating: ABC: 1.9/8 / NBC: 1.9/8 / CBS: 1.5/6
