“NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” is having its best start to the season in 7 years, since the 2006-2007 season. “Nightly,” the No.1 evening newscast, is outperforming “ABC World News with Diane Sawyer” by an average of +750,000 viewers each week, its biggest gap to start a season since 2005.
Compared to the same week last year only ABC is showing growth among both total viewers (+6%) and the A25-54 demo (+4%). “Nightly” is up +7% in total viewers, but down -2% in the demo. While No. 3 “CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley” is up +7% in viewers but down -7% in the demo.
