Evening News Ratings: Week of October 14

“ABC World News with Diane Sawyer” saw big growth last week. The No. 2 evening newscast was up +10% in viewers and up +17% in the A25-54 demo compared to the same week last year.

In fact, “World News” is having its best overall start to a season in 4 years. The show came in first on Monday and Friday in the demo, but not enough to overtake “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” which has won 255 of the past 256 weeks in the demo. Among total viewers, “Nightly” extends its winning streak 214 consecutive weeks. “Nightly” was up in total viewers (+7%) and flat in the demo, year-over-year.

No. 3. “CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley” grew its total viewership (+4%) but was down double digits in the demo (-14%).
