Evening News Ratings: Week of May 29

By Chris Ariens

Another big down week for all three evening newscasts with all shows down double digits in the A25-54 demo, compared to the same week last year.

ABC’s World News Tonight with David Muir won the holiday week among total viewers while NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt took the younger demo.

The biggest viewer drop was for the CBS Evening News, which is seeking a new anchor following the sudden departure of Scott Pelley last week. Evening News was down -12 percent in viewers and down -19 percent in the demo; Nightly News was down -7 percent in viewers and down -13 in the demo; and World News Tonight was down -3 percent in total viewers and down -15 percent among younger viewers.
