It seems even a giant oil spill might be no match for the warm summer weather.
As the “summer slump” appears to kick in, all three evening newscasts were down week-to-week in total viewers. “NBC Nightly News” remained the number one program and extended the total viewer gap with “ABC World News.”
In the demo, NBC and ABC were also down, but “CBS Evening News” held steady. “Nightly” and “World News” were both up year-to-year in total viewers and the demo, while CBS was down in total viewers, but up in the demo.
