With the NBC Finals and U.S. Open Golf preempting some of the evening newscasts, NBC and ABC’s averages were based on a short week last week.
(Speaking of the NBA Finals, Game 7 of Lakers vs. Celtics on ABC drew 28.2 million viewers, the largest audience for an NBA game since Michael Jordan won his sixth title in 1998.)
“NBC Nightly News,” which was based on a Mon-Wed average, was the top-rated program for the week. “ABC World News” was second and was based on a Mon, Wed, Fri average. “CBS Evening News” was the only broadcast based on a five-day average and was down in both categories from the week prior.
