The first week of NBC’s Olympic coverage led to ratings gold for “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams,” which averaged nearly 11 million viewers during the week of July 30, its best ever total viewer advantage over both “ABC World News with Diane Sawyer” and “CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley.”
Compared to the first week of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, “Nightly” is up +15% in Total Viewers and +10% in A25-54 viewers.
“CBS Evening News” was flat (-1%) in Total Viewers and up +4% in younger viewers compared to the same week last year. “ABC World News” was down -6% in both ratings measurements.
